Is 'YYYY-MM-DD' not valid for SQL Server?

'YYYYMMDD' and 'YYYY-MM-DD' are valid ANSI date strings.

I received comments in some threads that 'YYYY-MM-DD' should not be used with reference to Tibor's blog:http://www.karaszi.com/sqlserver/info_datetime.asp

I am looking for a proof if indeed 'YYYY-MM-DD' should not be used. Thanks.
