Differences SQL and MySql

Hi guys, one non technical question.

First at all, a message for the moderator: if this post break the rules of the forum please forgive me and I apologize. If I put this question is because I don't think to do something wrong.

Question: my company is buying a new software that runs under MySql. I love working with SQL, I studied SQl, SSAS, SSMS, SSIS and SSRS as far as I could so far but now I'm a little afraid to manage the data in MYSql that I don't know. In your experience, there is a lot of difference between the two database or it's enough similar ( I worked sometimes in Oracle, ok the meaning but the sintax was awful for me like my english now).?

I'm going to have a look on internet to find some experience about but just to have your feedback ( If you got, obviously).

Thank you and if this post is inappropriate please everyone to accept my excuse.
